For the duration of two weeks, the Belgian choreographer Alice van der Wielen-Honinckx lives and works with her artistic team in the district of Potsdam-Schlaatz. The final rehearsals for her performance Creatures at Rest take place at the Bürgerhaus am Schlaatz. Together with the two dancers Mariana Miranda and Jeanne Colin, she is working on a choreographic project dedicated to slowness: the performers develop their performance gradually on a round, rotating platform. This is intended to contrast human hyperactivity in a collapsing ecosystem and to express authenticity in a society of speed and individualism.
A showing with first rehearsals results will take place on Thu. 06 May 2021 and will be streamed live from 14:00 to 17:00.
