Árru is a breathtaking cinematic experience in which the “yoiken”, a traditional Sami song, becomes a lament against ongoing colonial mechanisms of exploitation. Elle Sofe Sara, who last appeared at the Potsdamer Tanztage in 2025 with her piece The Answer is Land, is a choreographer who skilfully blends disciplines such as dance, song, and cinematic imagery.
